GAYÀ: “Being the captain of Valencia CF still moves me”
The footballer from Pedreguer features in European Football Clubs to speak about how training and environment shape a player’s career progression
When a player suffers an injury, the support of teammates can be a vital boost on the road to recovery. Samu Maciá, a VCF Juvenil player who tore his cruciate ligament in a preseason friendly against Castellón, has been working hard with the medical department, physios and coaching staff to get back to full fitness -as well as strengthening his mind to face the setback.
As well as those in the VCF Academy residence -where he is now in his third season- and those in charge of the youth setup, Maciá has also recently received the encouragement of first team player Carlos Soler, who surprised him with a video message recorded for the PUMA Welcome Academy event.
“I want to send you a lot of encouragement and wish you all the luck possible with this injury. It is one of the most difficult injuries and you have some tough months to go through, and I want to end you my support,” he said.
“I’ve heard very good things about you as a player and as a person. Good people deserve the best. I’m wishing you all the luck in the world with your recovery.”
